This was the post I hoped I'd never have to make, even though I knew I would have to eventually.
Mom passed away last night. She fought long and hard, giving it everything she had, and outlasting the doctor's prognosis by several months.
She always said she wanted to win and even though she was presented with an un-winnable situation, she never gave up.
For all of you that have been following, thank you. Mom appreciated all the comments and true to her technology roots, was happy that I chose this way to keep everyone up to date with her situation.
Arrangements are pending right now, but I will have those sorted out today. I will update here once they are in place.

We will miss her dearly at the Service Center. She was a tremendous person and a classy lady. Your family is in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was one of a kind and such a joy to be around. Her sense of humor was always welcomed at any gathering and her wittiness kept everyone on their toes. She will be missed. - Gerri Maglia
ReplyDeleteMike and all,
ReplyDeleteI will miss Norma in many ways, and will miss reading your loving updates. She was a wonderful friend and coworker and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Blessings to all of you,
Nancy
I first met Norma in 1990 when I was asked to go do a Southern Assn review at Birdville. I admired her from the first moment I met her. She was so confident and 'real' - there was nothing pretentious about her. I was so happy to be able to be a colleague of hers later when I went to work at ESC 8 and took every opportunity I could to visit with her. She was a very classy lady and I will miss her greatly. - Donna Stanley
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine the Norma not being on "the other side of town", but the knowledge she shared and tips I learned from her over the last ten years will be with me forever.

Thank you for sharing your mother's story with us. She was greatly admired by teachers and technologists across Texas. She was always there with the right answer to our questions and a smile to let us know that it was OK to need to ask. Though none of us will miss her as much as you do, know that she will be missed by many, many people.
